Some more pictures of the work in progress on the MG Destiny. One picture of a piece of the backpack is a little blurry unfortunately…. Also included some pictures of a…
Thank you very much. I’m liking yours better than mine. Is this what they call, the grass looks always greener on the other side of the fence… LOL. Yes, everything is done with an airbrush. Except for Shinn of course. He is all done with a 5/0 and a 3/0 hand brush. I’m glad you like him. Took me 4 hours to paint him. That’s without drying time…
Here are also some pictures of a MG Destiny. Decided to strip all the chrome plating and use Alclad II chrome. First time I used it, but worked out fine, although there are…
Haha. I wouldn’t worry about that @Oli8all. I’ve seen how much detail you’ve put in yours. I hope mine can stand in the shadow of yours. Thanks for your nice comment.
I would really like to see a MG Unicorn 2.0. I know we got the OVA…. But one with full articulation. Not just 90 degr bends.
And like Oli8all, 2.0 versions of the Destiny Seed suits, and a 2.0 Freedom from Seed.
mg unicorn will never ever ever ever ever ever happen remaster freedom will happen for sure but destiny strike freedom and the infinie justice wont happen at all
this is looking great! i love the look of this kit, have you painted it? or is it straight from the runner? as i love the blue colour. Good Luck with the rest of build 🙂
That is some impressive work, truly amazing. Im curious as to what you are using for the little metal bits? your placement looks great and its not an overwhelming effect. Looking forward to seeing more of your progress on this kit.
The smallest metal bits are 1mm ball bearings. The bigger ones on the knees are 1.3mm bearings and the biggest parts on the sides of the shins are 2mm (I think) detail screw heads. I picked them up at either Volks or Yodabashi Camera in Tokyo.
Track down a precision hand drill. HLJ sells one but they call it a HG One-Touch Pin Vice . Here is the link to its page on their website:

You can get lots of different drill bits that you can swap out. To get the bearings flush I have no sure fire trick. I just drill a little bit at a time until…[Read more]
GAT-X series build number 3! I really love the simple design of the Duel…even moreso after I put the Assault Shroud on. Sadly equipping the armour scratches up the parts…
Posibly the best duel gundam I have ever seen, great shading and color choices are dead on. Decals seem to blend in nicely as well (are those stickers or bandai’s waterslide decals btw?)
Amazing!
Thanks. there aren’t any official waterslide decals for the Duel so I purchased 3rd party ones from Samueldecal instead. It’s pretty much a copy of the sticker sheet in waterslide form.
@saint-ism This is soooo nice! I only have the NG Duel and actually really like it, but when I saw the MG Duel I knew that was a kit I have to get. I like the kit better than the Strike (go figure). Great job man.
There were rumours going around that they were making one for the HD remaster of SEED Destiny but, similar to the PG Unicorn, Bandai hasn’t said anything themselves.
It’s looking great! Putting my Destiny to shame! Are you using an airbrush to paint yours? Shin looks very detailed… Can’t wait to see it finished!
