I’m about to begin building my first ship model, Tamiya’s 1/700 IJN Shiratsuyu.
Being my first ship build I would be happy to receive any tips or suggestions you may have to share, thanks in advance!
Hi,
I would be very happy to watch your building log, and will gladly assist if I can :).
Please feel free to post pictures of your build as many as you would like.
All the best,
Eyal.
That’s very nice, thanks! I forgot to take WiP pics, but I will upload one as it is right now.
By the way, I love what you did with that FREMM, I can’t believe that’s actually 1/700, those tiny CIWS.
Bumped up to intermediate and into 4th place! I’m both quite surprised and happy!
Thank you HLJ for the opportunity, it was a really interesting and fun experience.
And my final submission. Decals set and then proceeded to wash it with black enamel and dry brushed it with Testors metallic, sounds easier than it was but I like the way it end up looking and I love the way dry brushing makes it look truly metallic and worn-out . Also attached a pic of my improvised photo studio.
Hope you guys like it!
Been a while but I finally got some free time to work on it.
Painted it using acrylic Humbrol 86, and the road-wheels and tracks are painted and assembled too. Also applied the first decals to turret.
Looking really nice so far.
It’s supposed to have a two tone camo, but decided not to risk it since I like how it looks like that. And yes, Humbrol 86 is supposed to be Russian camo, but I had it around and I think it fits good enough.
