  • Im loving that psyco zaku its crazy, shame there is no thunderbolt waterslide decals, would look a tad better…but then again a master grade of any of them would be amazing!

If you have the paints, maybe give them a test run, if not then…yeah wait for a proper response…

Just to clarify, you do mean the metallic finish, like say the original mg nu gundam, or the titanium finish, like the nu gundam ver ka?

(if its the former then its not exactly white, although the answer would be interesting!)

    • for example the strike freedom extra finish model you know the supposed white parts on it its done in a mettalic finish

  • masterDS64 posted a new activity comment 10 years ago

cheers for the response, ill keep that in mind!

Could go brown on the red sections and grey for any white if you don’t want it to be dominated by panel lines, all black for really highlighting and an anime look…

I say try testing with what you got on a few pieces that are easily fixed and see what you think looks good, it is your kit afterall…just saying 🙂

    • ok thanks a lot i was just wondering u know for other peoples points of views and stuff. 😛

Howdy y’all, quick question, if I spray semi clear gloss over a normal gloss paintjob will it affect the shine at all?

Normally I’d throw another gloss, but my regular hobby store it out and to import it may take too long…thoughts?

    • by semi clear gloss I’m assuming you mean a clear coat with a semi gloss finish, and in that case it most definitely will effect the shine. You’ll end up with a semi gloss finish
I’d import or wait for the restock.

  • 10/10 would lol again

Sorry for being late, had a quick google, semi gloss will work, its just not as shiny.

Sorry for my delay and…lack of any others, i do advise looking at dalong.net and check out the runner previews and manual scans, that might give more insight to what can and can’t be done, I had a look just now, shin matsunaga’s zaku and johnny ridden’s zaku both come with a non commander head top which you could use as a grunt (although its…[Read more]

I can only offer my theory, they are a japanese based retailer, and those p-bandai online exclusives are…p-bandai only exclusives, sold DIRECTLY through them and them only.

Other dealers like gentei kits gginfinite etc are just odd operations (gg is american if i remember correctly) that just order from the site and then re-sell at a mark…[Read more]

Firstly, once you painted the kit, a GLOSS coat must be applied or else you’d have “silvering” (makes the decals look horrid), once decals applied ON TOP OF THE GLOSS apply another gloss or matte to finish (although some here report silvering with straight to matte on top of decals could gloss again then matte over or stop at the second gloss if…[Read more]

Practice your brush strokes if you’re gonna paint, or learn how to use a spray can well and dont forget to topcoat it in gloss for shine in matte/flat for how you’d like the final result to look.

But how are you gonna kit bash the 2 exactly, the old hguc really just needs a better head, and with a high mobility zaku 2 or just some of its parts…[Read more]

    • Yeah, i got the idea from rrobbert184’s video, but i want try and add something different. Either try to make a non high mobility char’s zaku with the parts. (so basically, zaku amazing’s head on char’s zaku body, with the zaku amazing’s paint job.) or a regular high mobility zaku( just a grunt). For the last one, all i would need is shin…[Read more]

Just about any hg will do, pick a design you like, but be aware bigger more complicated designs will up the build difficulty…example, the old hguc rx-78-2 or the gm are super easy, but the unicorn gundam in destroy mode may be a bit intimidating…and do avoid the dendrobium (at least in 1/144 scale) LOL

The ones in gundam build fighters…[Read more]

Hi um…quick question, i may of asked this before ages ago when the plamo comp was on (i ducked out, still working on THAT ONE :c) but here it is…

Clear parts, if its totally clear I know painting it with clear paint changes its color, but what if it is already colored?

Clear green painted in clear red gonna work or fail?

    Unless anyone has…[Read more]

    • well I’ve never done this because if the part itself is green then you can’t really get rid of that, so the green will always be there, red is the complimentary color to green so if you put red over green you’ll theoretically block all light and lose the transparency altogether, though in practice you’ll probably still get a bit of light through…[Read more]

…you mean…hand paint with a brush or…do you mean something else?

*calls for an airbrush expert to help*

  • masterDS64 posted a new activity comment 10 years ago

I was about to say maybe i could hand paint using that but…it says not too :c

I heard alot about the alclad range, well, its not that i don’t have access to an airbrush (yet) but the space involved is my problem (only place i could use it houses 2 cars and air brushing outside aint wise XD)…

But thank you anyway, ill bookmark that incase…[Read more]

    • nope, alclads are airbrush only. airbrushing outside is fine as long as you are sheltered from the wind. I airbrush outside under a sheltered lean-to.

Why not one pic of it in your intended pose on the diorama, and 2 more from different angles while on the diorama?

For some builds ive seen the diorama IS part of the build.

That said I always thought for early stages you’d rock up with the build and get judged…

Rattlecanning…I can’t hand paint well either due to rubbish brush strokes so that rules that out (but if you know anyway other than air brush id like to hear any and all methods, effective or not!)

    • I use an irbrush so can’t offer any advice then, sorry.
IF you had access to an airbrush, the perfect finish would be alclad holomatic spectral chrome-
