Today is a sad day , I had to scrap the majority of what i already had painted as the paint was ruined after some of the sprues rubbed together inside their box . So today i ordered a whole new kit and will be up and running again soon with the O project . On the bright side i can always repaint my orignal o another color and have two custom…[Read more]
Wait, so you’re worried about the paints scratching? As long as you didn’t scratch up the plastic, use Simple Green and it’ll take the paint right off! You don’t need to start all over again.
Let em soak then wash them with a toothbrush to get in any corners/panel lines to get rid of any paint that the stripper didn’t clean out. If you can’t get simple green, try 90% rubbing alcohol. It will even take off lacquer.
Wish you the best of luck! 😀 I used enamel paints on an old Blade Liger’s armor (first try at a camo paint job), let it sit in a little container with simple green for five hours, then just scrubbed off the paint with an old tooth brush. Another good paint remover is easy-off oven cleaner. I have had great success with it removing paint without eating the plastic. I had to do that with several kits, including one i have since finished and is my best paint job ever.
Not really sure if this goes here but , any one else having problems posting in other groups ? Im in the intermediate contest and sometimes i can post and others theres no dialog box . Contacted hlj twice but no responce .
The Upload and comments are working….but the Dialog box or posting box now is impossible to find….i guess we will have to wait on them to find out what is the issue.
Painted the joints/frame ( or lack therof ) today and tested out the second color for my paint scheme . Im waiting on some Tamiya paint to come in before I do the test build but I have test build pics in a few days and then I can finish the paint scheme once everything is planned out .
Yeah seems to always be a different shade of yellow that i’ve seen so far , its coming out nice so far though . Thanks , hopfully ill have some more pics by tonight .
Thanks , i havnt decided yet on how im going approach the panel lines . Right now im waiting on some more paint to be delivered so i have some time to think.
I had to repaint some of the armor pieces my WIP PMX-003 The O yesterday as i lost some panel lines in the paint . Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be able to test build and apply the second tone of green to the kit , I have to order some more specialty paints though for the joint pieces and red parts .

^Squee’s right. Scrubbing really depends on how thick the layer and type of paint(s) used are.
Cool , well I already got a new kit but I’m still gonna try this . Think ill do another custom job on the old one
Thanks man I’ll try this
