A bit more work done today with decals and setting the nose into place. I used Microscale to place the original decals into place and to hold well over curves etc. After drying there was some subtle coats of Tamiya Clear Coat which fixed a lot of the excess clear decal hang

Later, I started to work on the engine, which will be heavily detailed during the build.

Some other photos I’ve included is for the front brake cabling in comparison to the real deal. I hope it compares well.

Poke a hole with a needle in the bubbles of the decals and fill it with Micro Sol. Push the air out with a damp q-tip. Maybe a few times until all bubbles are gone.

    • Thanks Otaku,
Yeah, it’s stuff. Your method is what I normally do. It’s a just the lose clear stuff over the edges, but manage to get to adhere one way or another. Really enjoying this event and seeing everyone’s posts

Your build looks advanced to me.

    • Wow, thank you for the compliment. I do my best… but I’m never completely happy when it’s finished. I use to do 1/48 and 1/35 military models, but spoilers, wings and diffusers are my sort of thing these days. I’m pretty impressed by the standard on here and it’ll give me ideas for future builds

It’s good to change things up so as not to get burned out. I can’t imagine building only gunpla my entire life.

In my opinion, there’s no masterpieces or crap builds. Beginners and advanced builders are both human. The only difference is the amount of time, money, effort, etc. spent on a single kit. Skills can be learned fast in this digital age.
