Hi,
So after some time.. the model is done 🙂 !
A lot of fun building this one, especially since the colors are a bit different than light gray hull and dark gray hull.
The…
Hi,
When all sub assemblies were built, I masked the red hull with masking tape, and sprayed everything in gray acrylic primer from a spray can.
You can see the results so far.
Thanks for watching,

Hi,
The first thing I try to finish when building carrier models is the lots of tiny airplanes.. gives me motivation to continue building the ship.
So I took the 33 planes…
Damn, and I thought building six fin funnels on a Gundam kit was repetitive… Let alone 33 planes!
Looks great nevertheless! Good luck and happy building
Hi,
Being sick at home gave me some time to work on the model, and actually finish it..
The IJN gray was dark, and to pop out the details, I lightly drybrushed it with oil…
Hi,
Additional work was done this last couple of days..
Started with spraying the model with one of Tamiya’s IJN arsenal dark gray.
Then glued the wood deck.
To glue the deck,…

The PE sheet is very weel done, with lots of details to add.
I think the instructions page for the PE is not that great, as it shows the…
Hi,
I finally managed to start the kit, it is a lovely kit with Pe included. The Pe is very delicate and fun to use, railing bends in the proper places, and I started with doing the railing around the hull and the cannons.
Hope to advance with the kit soon, as real life gets in the way :)…
Hi,
My next ship model will be the battleship Hiei. I’ll use PE, wood deck, and a scenic base with some additional small vessels for scale.
Thanks for watching,
Eyal.
Thanks!
I think that using the cement is very simple, just brush some on the part you wish to glue and that’s all.
My preferred cements brand is Tamiya. I have their regular cement, and their super fluid cement which is very useful.
You can always try on a simple kit to get the feeling of it.
Thats freakin nice..I’ve been always intimidated doing a ship model..I’ve a few in my backlogs but the fact I’m not used to do a model using cement…do you have any advice?
Thanks!

Hi,
So in the last couple of weeks I had time to work on the model. I invested roughly 50 hourse of hard work, which included adding the railing, additional details such as…
Next many hours were invested in cutting the white railing, and gluing it to the ship. There are still places I find that I forgot to put railing on :0…
I also find more…
Hi,
So I had lots of time to work over the weekend (wife and kid away 😉 )..
First after adding all the railing I sprayed a coat of gray primer.
Then I sprayed a couple of…
Hi,
I continue to attach the railing, measure the part, cut and glue, it takes time, but it starts to take shape. The main hull is done I think, and now I’m working on the…
