NIce advice there, been searching 1 unit as well. As for the oiless compressor, how do we know if its using a oiless? Some ad may mention or even the seller may know, but I don’t know how to identify 1 if I were to stuble upon those seller that doesn’t know what he selling…. please be advice
I’m not entirely sure, to be honest. I’m using my own compressor as a point of comparison, and the specs are pretty similar (1/6 HP, 1700RPM, though mine is rated for 42L/min while this one’s only for 23L/min)
My concern, I guess, has to do with duty cycle. If you work a compressor too hard, it will overheat and turn itself off until it cools…[Read more]
I would suggest use of enamel tinner to remove the excessive paint or use zippo fluid. Beware of industrial tinner, those really melt your plastic. I think use zippo fluid is the best because a tin of it usually just cost like USD3, its more easier to find compare to enamel tinner which is more expensive….
If only I dare to drill RG RX-78-2 back pack and attach the shield behind him, it would look like a mini wings behind him… or attach 2 minigun….. named “Gundam RX-78-2 Full armor”
While my RG RX-78-2 still waiting for clean up after the panel wash, I was able to finished up my “System Weapon 005”, it turn out very awesome.
Did you know that
– With 2 of this kit, I can make a large shield with 2 minigun attached. way awesome than Full armor Unicorn’s shield.

Believe me when I said I already tried all local store at my area. Apparently no old guys at my area XD.
Some people love to keep the knowledge to themselves. most of them advice me to try out myself… well, is not like I don’t want to try out my self, to start a paint set, I have to buy set of color and thinner, those Tamiya thinner/mr.thinner…[Read more]
Point taken on the panel line subject. Thanks
How about Enamel wash over lacquer paint? if this work, I don’t really need to do coating on the acrylic paint, which will save cost.
it goes like this Lacquer>enamel>acrylic. in other words you can use enamel or acrylic over lacquer but not the other way around. as for using the enamel thinner to remove the enamel paint without damaging the lacquer underneath, if the lacquer was cured properly before you did the enamel then things should be fine but don’t overdo it or it may…[Read more]
Does the panel wash technique still works? I mean with so many layers of primer, paint, top coat? does even the panel line still there? I fear that with so many layers the panel line actually vanish. That why I been thinking using lacquer as base. Since im in a tropical country, I doesn’t really need a fast dry paint.
With Gundam kits, you could dip the thing in chocolate and you’d still have panel lines. 🙂 (Panel lines on most Bandai kits are MASSIVE.)
But more generally, yes, panel lines will still exist after multiple layers of paint as long as you don’t lay it on too thick.
