I second the recommendation for a good matte top coat, if the kit already comes with a healthy amount of decals (detail stickers) it really helps “seals them in” so to speak which looks way better as well.

Damn, I only wish I had that many RG’s. They take forever for me to build with such minuscule parts.

What exactly is so different from the metal builds? From what I’ve seen its mostly just occasional diecast parts and slightly sturdier frame. I’ve never really understood why they are so incredibly expensive.

I prefer models just because I think building them is fun and allows for more customization. I’ve only ever ordered one robot damashii and it was for the code geass Vincent mecha and felt like it was super cheap. Maybe ill give it a go with one of the actual gundam figures since they look better constructed.

definitely echo-ing the seed MG first suggestion, duel is pretty cool. Sinanju stein is a hell of project (as are all MG sinanju variants) and definitely best done when you have a couple MG’s under your belt IMO. Either way you can’t go wrong with the MG Duel or EW Heavyarms.
