I am going to commence this NOW!
Ordered my Full Burnern via HLJ but processing for it to be shipped is taking tooooooo long hence I got the Zephyranthes from a local hobby shop.
Nice one bro… knowing local prices you’d probably should have waited lol… the worst is probably a week’s wait… RGs on average costs S$26-28 from HLJ (shipping included) compared to around S$40-42 at the local shops. Anyways, have fun building!!
Yea, my mistake… that was for an RG Zaku II I got from another site. It was on sale. Yea, I checked my past records… Average RGs abt $32-33. But yea, I understand how you feel… sometimes I’m at Hobby Pt and I’m dying to get something but have to endure. I gather you bought it from HAG/HAW?
I was browsing through the future release of gundam kits and I noticed the HG Astray Gold Frame is in the list. http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN983660/Gun
Correct me if I am wrong. Isn’t the HG gold frame supposed to be a Bandai exclusive item? HLJ don’t carry any Bandai exclusive item.
HLJ doesn’t carry web-exclusive items, and HLJ is carrying this item, therefore this item isn’t a web-exclusive… 🙂
More seriously though – the online exclusive is a different version of the Gold Frame.
Web Exclusive: “Gold Frame Amatsu”
General Release: “Gold Frame Amatsu Mina”
Probably the easiest-to-identify difference is that Mina has high…[Read more]
The Amatsu probably comes with enough parts to build the Mina though, unless Bandai excludes those pieces from the runner, but i’m pretty sure they will include the original feet. Not sure about the head mold though.
I was confused as heck by this too. Had to check the Gundam wiki and guess that the exclusive one is the “incomplete” form of the amatsu that they list. Even when I was looking at the magazine advertisement for the kit releases side by side I wasn’t sure haha.
Any type of glue could and probably would do this or damage it in some way. Modeler glue/cement we tend to use, the thin stuff is out of the question but the thick stuff would probably do. I mean, it’s a ballsy move to try it because it’s a trial and error kind of thing. It may work like a charm but again, it may fail horribly too. The good thing,…[Read more]
I am suspecting that it is because it was pasted and I lift it up again to reposition. And the area that I have a problem is always a sharp 90 degrees bend surface. The part that doesn’t stick well is on the smaller surface.
I have been using hobby knife all along. The stickers are too small and thin for my fat fingers.
You may try using the thicker model glue because it acts as a real glue. The liquid stuff acts as a chemical that welds two pieces of plastic together and it’ll most probably eat away your sticker. I can say that waterslides dissapear in a blink of an eye when given this treatment a shot, thicker plastic stickers will get severely damaged, if not…[Read more]

I need help with the decals on the real grade. It is advisable to use glue to stick on the loose sticker? Or is there any other methods that I can attempt?
Hi bro, why is the sticker loose? The adhesive used is pretty good. Suggest you use your hobbyknife to apply the sticker, cos if you use your fingers, that could be why it’s less sticky. The common thing that ppl do is to spray a layer of topcoat to help hold the sticker in place.

Try brushing it with some clear paint, it works well as an adhesive and should not damage the stickers.
I found that enamel works best, I even use clear enamel to glue on clear windshield or headlights on my car models.

Today I tried to browse hobbylink.tv via my android phone.
Success! Interface looks great.
Then I tried to comment and upload 2 photos.
1/2 Success! The comment was posted but the photos were lost in space.
Am I the only person who experiences this?
:p
Love what you guys have did for the gunpla community.
It is now a ritual for me to wait for your show every Monday as if my life depends on it! No Joke!!!
Ryan should so do the Dendrobium! (He must have read many people wanted him to).
Just a suggestion. Maybe Gunpla TV can do a few episodes on a brief history of different…[Read more]
Completed the mech of RX78-2. Feeling a bit defeated as some assembly didn’t turn out well. And I wonder if the problem is because this is the first Real Grade that Bandai has released. The gold and silver colors on the stickers seems to fade off rather easily just by rubbing your fingers against it. Some of the armor parts doesn’t fit as tight…[Read more]
the metallic does seem rather fragile and it’s not just the first RG’s they all have that issue the biggest problems for me are the little copper bits at the elbows and sometimes knees depending on kit. the problem is they’re right by a moving part so the edge gets rubbed and that makes the sticker peel and then you have to press it down and that…[Read more]

Can’t be $26-$28 when 2000yen is around S$26. That is before shipping charges.
I got my Zephyranthes slightly below S$40.
