I’d say MG. I love the RG line, but if you value the design novelty when you build a kit, MG wins hands down, because you get to build a frame and the process varies depending on the kit. You rarely get that with a pre-built frame (RG Zeta/Skygrasper and both GP01 kits are a nice break from that, but these are just 4 kits out if 15, so…).

Can’t wait to see this built. Although speaking of russian planes, the one I want to see as a transforming kit is SV-51 from Macross Zero

P.S. – I’m using sprays so far, although I’m thinking of getting an airbrush next year.

The photo was taken in late August – I was painting the parts of MG RX-78-2 v3 which I took with me on a lengthy business trip do Dublin. Haven’t painted anything since then. The lowest acceptable temperature for me is 17-18C . When I was back (mid-October) it was 10C already. I guess next painting season will begin in May for me.

I have Hikaru one as well. It holds well, although it lacks the sturdiness of MG/HG kits. Few VF-25 kit I have also have that feel, but still they are solid enough to stand on it’s own in gerwalk mode, even the super heavy Armored Messiah. The Strike parts for VF-1 though are a totally different story – the two pods on top of the kit barely hold…[Read more]

@Michael : Hello, nice picture from your window 🙂
I can’t do the same as you because i’m living in a big city ( Paris ) in an appartment and I really can’t open the windows to spray ( not to mention the noise )
I was thinking about a painting booth but not for now :p-

Applying the stickers. Since I’m using the option parts that will allow to connect weapons to the wings, I had to prop the wing. Otherwise the parts kept popping out under pressure.

The sticker after tracing panel lines with a toothpick.

Note the joint hole used to position the sticker. The said joint will also prevent you from applying the sticker afterwards

These two white runners have most of the panel lines that you’ll see on the kit.
