Gunpla TV Special – All Japan Model & Hobby Show 2013 – Part 1

We’ve just returned from the 53rd All Japan Model and Hobby Show and, oh boy!, do we have some exciting news and some great stuff to show you. The kit that made the biggest impact at the show was the biggest new kit at the Bandai booth, the 1/100 MG MSN-04 Sazabi Ver. Ka. It’s huge and has the amazing detail and proportions we’ve come to expect from Ver Ka kits and just might be one of the greatest Gundam MG kits ever. We also saw the 1/144 RG ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam and with all of its markings in place it looks fantastic and can stand proudly next to its PG counterpart.

In HG news we saw the upcoming 1/144 HGUC Gundam F91 and 1/144 HGUC Victory Gundam kits but then got thrown for a loop when we saw an HG V2 Gundam. Yup, that’s right! the V2 is coming! We also saw the prototype for a new and updated HG Aile Strike Gundam. There was also a prototype of an HGUC Silver Bullet from M.S.V. And plenty of Gundam Build Fighter kits.

Despite the Sazabi stealing the attention there were new MG kits shown and announced including the 1/100 MG Nu Gundam Ver. Ka Titanium Finish Ver. which looks to be the best Titanium MG yet.

The big surprise for the show was an MG and one that we never thought we’d see, a Gundam X. MG Gundam X will arrive early 2014 so get your preorder trigger fingers ready.

New Valvrave, Pokemon, LBX, and more were there in the Bandai side of the exhibition hall so be sure to check out the New Bandai List up on our site. We got a look at some of Bandai Collectors figures as well including the upcoming Robot Damashii such as the Robot Damashi (Side MS) Hi Nu Gundam. It looks great and is sure to please a lot of fans but, check this out, there’s gonna be a Robot Damashii Kshatriya!

Other exhibitors had some very cool stuff including Kotobukiya who was displaying new kits from a variety of lines such as Frame Arms, Gunhed, Super Robot Wars, Muv Luv, and Zoids. They even had two guys building the biggest Zoids we’ve ever seen, the 1/72 RBOZ-003 Gojulas (Limited Production). Words cannot accurately describe describe the vastness of this kit.

Be sure to check out the video, as well as the Gunpla TV Group and our facebook page for more good stuff from the show.

  1. So excited about the Sazabi Ver. Ka. I have the original MG Sazabi and while it is my favorite kit, overall I felt the kit could’ve been a bit better as it is quite sensitive. Also I have stated it before but the Kitbash should be named Chanel Stein. Because the Chanel from “Meaningless War” Is a Quebeley and Sazabi combination. With the Sinanju being a Sazabi successor it could make sense.
