Bandai’s recent acquisition of the “Star Wars” license has sci-fi modeling fans everywhere drooling in anticipation, and they had quite a few stunning pieces on display at the All Japan Model and Hobby Show on Sept. 26! Take a look at our ongoing sale for a taste of what’s in store!
Although their big and beautiful Star Destroyer is very likely just a showpiece and may not be produced, Bandai will be releasing the iconic X-Wing in 1/72 and 1/48 scale, in addition to a regular TIE Fighter and Darth Vader’s malevolent custom version in 1/72 scale, as well as a Y-Wing and a really awesome Death Star attack run display base! A 1/48 Snowspeeder is also in the near future.
In addition to their spacecraft kits, Bandai will also offer a lineup of 1/12 figures, including C-3PO, R2-D2 and his chum R4-D5, a Stormtrooper, a Sandtrooper, a Scout Trooper (who comes with his Speeder Bike), and Darth Vader! There’s also a 1/48 AT-ST which looks great, and is due for release in February.
And just for fun, Bandai’s also giving us a group of fun “Egg Force” figures, and a “Helmet Collection.” And the Star Wars x Space Warp setup gives you a “Star Wars”-themed roller-coaster ride in a convenient size just right for your own collection!
Speaking of “Star Wars,” Kotobukiya previewed a group of their 1/10-scale Artfx+ figures–Luke, Leia, Han and Chewbacca. Kotobukiya also had a brilliant Overed weapon set to make any “Armored Core” ‘bot look even more awesome, not to mention the “Armored Core” KT-104 Perun (Hanged Man, rematch version) and the UCR-10/L Agni, among others. And Koto also showed off an amazing “Frame Arms” Extend Arms weapon set!
Moving on to “Maschinen Krieger,” Hasegawa displayed their upcoming 1/20 44H White Knight, from the “Robot Battle V” side story. Wave had the long-anticipated multi-legged Gladiator on view, as well as the 1/20 Oscar tank.
And last but most definitely not least, Aoshima showed off completed versions of their upcoming DeLorean from all three “Back to the Future” films!

Okay, this is an important question. Mack-ross or Ma-cross?
bloodnut38
I say Ma-cross. maybe both are right.
Charles
Ma-cu-ross!(3 Syllables) just like in the opening theme song.
bloodnut38
shut up and take my money Bandai. i want all the star wars goodies now.
21st Centuryguy
There is no corresponding English prefix for Ma, but Mac is common. So it defaults in English to Mac Ross. Everytime i hear someone call it Macross like it rhymes with Lacross it makes me cring.
