  2. a mugshot ? XD as for the hazing/frosting on the windscreen , there are special cement for those clear pieces .. or can use floor polish ( a brand called future) which can double as a clearcoat .. which i occsionally use .

  3. Hey guys, good luck with everything over there. Questions about the contest, can we edit the photo, i.e. crop the model into a “mug shot”, can we have more than one model in the picture (I’m having trouble picking just one favorite)?

    • We prefer a photo of you actually holding a kit, or two, or as many kits as you can hold.

  4. Hi Syd,

When I used to build model cars, I would use carpenter’s glue to attache the clear plastic pieces. Those clear pieces are not load bearing so you do not need heavy modelling cement to attach them. Most model cement works by slightly melting the plastic, that is why your clear parts are frosting. With carpenter’s glue (white glue like Lapage or Almers), it does not melt the plastic and it dries perfectly clear.

Another trick I have heard about but not tried yet is to coat the clear parts with Future Floor Finish, an acrylic clear coat that can protect the plastic from model cement. There are numerous tutorials online about using this stuff to restore the shine to clear plastic. Some aircraft modelers will use Future to attach aircraft canopies.
