Gunpla TV – Episode 83 – Zoids – Choose Ryan’s Next Kit!

Ryan takes charge for Episode 83 and he’s got some good stuff that he needs your help with. He just doesn’t know what to build next so he wants the viewers (that’s you) to tell him.

Kits featured in this video:

1/72 RZ-041 Liger Zero Panzer
1/144 HGUC Zaku Mariner

1/24 Spinner
1/72 Bad Guy (Akuyaku 1 Go) All Crew Set (w/20 Pig Crew Figures)
1/100 Space Shuttle Orbiter
1/100 Boeing B-52D Stratofortress
1/35 EFGF M61A5 Main Battle Tank “Semovente” Phantom Element

  1. Hi guys, really enjoy your latest show. As for what Ryan should build. The Shuttle and the Stratofortress is far too easy for him :-P. The Spinner has too little parts. To satisfy all the Gundam fan, definitely go for the Semovente. And if he is going hard on painting, I would like to see the Akuyaku 1 Go, which is my favorite.
BTW, I keeped posting questions on this site just before you went on air and missed the cut so thought I try asking them again. Hope you don’t mind I double posted.
    1. Have you been to the Gundam Front and can you explain a bit about booking ticket for that please?
    2. You know Ascii Media Works publishes a Gundam kits catalog every now and then. Do you know when they will publish the next book please?
    3. Do you know if Bandai release a catalog of all the kits they are selling please? Kind of like Tamiya who bring us a catalog every year.
    Thanks.

  4. I will try to best the odd and vote for the Akuyaku 1 Go tank with Pig Crews, simply because this kit is not well known enough, and a build of it on Gunpla TV might help raise some much needed publicity for this kit. It looks like a brilliant kit and I think it should deserver some more love from the modelling community.

On a side note, I am wondering what is happening to the user content section of Hobbylink.tv. It seems like it’s listing haven’t been updated for a lnog time. Is it being abandoned?

    • Hi Raymond,

It hasn’t been abandoned, but has been put on a bit of a hiatus while we updated hlj.com. With that update out we can focus our attention on redesigning hobbylink.tv. We had some big ideas we were kicking around.

  5. Hi Syd and Ryan!

I have a question for Syd about Tamiya glues: what is the difference (if any) between 87003 and 87012, quantity aside? I couldn’t find any specific info. Both are described as “for plastic” but only the latter says “for plastic” on the bottle.
I now it’s a n00b question, but I’m pretty new to gunpla. ATM I’m deciding which type of glue to use (regular or extra thin), but I had this doubt about the two versions described above.

Thanks for your time and greetings from an italian gunpla newbie.

Keep up the good work, guys!!

  6. Ryan has pretty much established himself as the “plane” guy. I wanna see the process of painting the camo pattern on the Stratofortress

  7. hmmmm.difficult choice..i’m really curious with how that spinner and pig tank might turn out..but being a gunpla lover, i choose the gundam tank ^_^

anyway. is it true that there’s gonna be a PG Unicorn Gundam???

  8. I would love to see that ‘Pig Tank’ built. Camo should be relatively easy, though time consuming, to paint with brush. And finished kit most definitely would look striking. Also, this would be a nice change from gunpla and other robot kits that seem to dominate sci-fi market. Not saying, that robots aren’t cool.
So, Ryan, go with the Akuyaku 1-go.

  9. Hi guys. I always enjoy watching Gunpla TV. Looking forward to seeing Ryan’s finished Falcon. Personally, I’d love to see Ryan build the Semovente as his next project. Not necessarily because it’s Gundam related, but more so because it just looks so pretty darn cool. It’ll be interesting to see which kit gets picked. Cheers.

OH, and great choices Ryan, too bad we the viewers can only choose 1. Hmm, I think the Gundam tank would be very honorable to the show, but that’s my opinion. 🙂

  12. I vote for 1/72 Bad Guy (Akuyaku 1 Go) All Crew Set (w/20 Pig Crew Figures). Need to know how difficult to paint this kit and what’s the effect and result we might get the end. If Ryan can do it, will give me confident to go for this kit.

  14. I vote for the M61A5 or the spinner. Would certainly like to see him take on some masking in either f those kits.

  15. Have you guys announced the winners for your 15 year anniversary? just wondering. that’s it. As for Ryan he should build 1/72 Ace Combat Shiden 2 or gunpla kits or other kits that he haven’t build yet.

  18. I admit that the efgf tank would look pretty cool on the show but I’m goin to go for the stratofortrees cuz both gunpla tv and boss builds haven’t shown a military plane so yeah that’s my answer. and keep up the great show guys:)

Oh and can syd show the hg age legillis when it is released. And u guys also do an episode showing what to do and what not to do when using gloss and flat coats cuz I’m not very clear when u say ” silvering effect” . Tx

  19. Hi guys, great show as always. I’ve built the Tamiya space shuttle before and it’s a great kit, so I would love to see Ryan build the Gundam tank. It’s more fitting with the show and I’ve been thinking about getting that kit for a while but really want to know what’s inside considering the price before I pony up the cash.

  20. hmm whilst the gundam tank will be a good build to watch im sure it would have been nice for some more gunpla style (plamo) kits to be offered up rather then your more typical model with glue style kits which are already shown on boss builds, what happaned to the zoids kits and such ryan wanted to build, i get that the iron kong he loved might be hard due to availability but theres plenty of other big ones
