Gunpla TV – Episode 275 – 2.0 Gundam F-91 Review!

The 2.0 F-91 is in and built! Scott joins Todd for a closer look at a classically styled Gundam. We even went the extra mile and did the full lighting option for this kit just to shine some light on this subject! Watch or be square!

Kits in this episode:
1/100 MG Gundam F91 Ver.2.0
Lighting Unit (2 Lights Type)
1/144 HGBD Momokapool
1/144 HGBD Seravee Gundam Scheherazade
1/144 HGBD Ogre GN-X

Her favorite lines are Hasegawa's Mechatro WeGo line, Meng's World War Toons Pinky line, and weird miscellany like Platz's bonsai tree kits. In general, if it's a detailed miniature that's too small to be useful for anything other than taking up space, she'll probably love it.

  1. Scott roasting Todd over pronunciation of gundam and the decals was quite amusing.

  2. Fabulous review of a really classic Gundam from my childhood! I’m like Todd, I chicken out with those dry decals coz I’ve made so many mistakes with them in the past! 😛

  3. The Momokapool is in fact based on the Kapool, and I’m crossing my fingers that Bandai will release a HGCC Kapool in the near future.

  4. Honestly I’d like to see more MGs and HGs with light gimicks. They showed with the Pacific Rim Gyspy that they can do it with an HG and I’m sure I’m not the only one that would love an Exia 2.0 where all the GN condensers light up like to perfect grade..

  8. I personally think that the gimmicks on this new F91 are not as great as what the I expect from all the hype that this kit is getting. The light is not that great looking in my opinion, it would be better if the light would light up the eyes as well, and not just up to the neck. Also, the stand is not the best effort from Bandai, especially compared to the Rafflesia stand of the old F91. Overall, i think that this kit doesn’t really deserve the 2.0 moniker of the F91 pedigree.

    • Even though the stand + light feature didn’t stand out the mobile suit overall is a welcome improvement from the original MG. I had gripes with the original and I think they fixed all of them except the front skirts.

  11. Thanks for the review guys, the kit does look a little underwhelming on camera – but I hope I’m proven wrong when mine arrives!
Scott was also a great host, hope he comes back more often.

  14. It’s so nice seeing Scott on the show. I remember his Boss Build videos of the Lexus LFA, they were fun. It’s a little sad that we don’t see Boss Builds anymore, but if Toy Tengoku can come back, then hopefully Boss Builds can too!

  18. F91 is one of my favourite Gundam designs but I wish this 2.0 would have strayed away a bit more from the original. Maybe something on the lines of the gorgeous Metal Build figure.

  19. I really wish the F91 had better articulation below the belt. The lighting system also does nothing for me. I think, rather than spending the big bucks, I’d rather get the HG and use the difference to get the MG GM Sniper II, which has excellent articulation.

While the HGBD kits all look interesting, I intend on waiting for the end of the series for most of them to see their Final Forms. My wallet couldn’t take getting every version.

  24. The new BD kits are looking so nice. Loving the Momokapool a lot. It’s parts separation for an HG is insane, especially something so unique. Very happy with it. The Seravee Scheherazade is both unique yet faithful to the original design, using a miniship as a powerup is an interesting idea and I think they pulled it off well, and of course the Ogre GN-X looks nice and intimidating with it’s effects and bulky stature, looking forward to each of them.

F91 2.0 is definitely an unexpected, but still welcome update to the MG F91 kit. I still think the original holds up extremely well, and i’ll probably end up buying both anyways because they both have merits. But this kit definitely is a nice addition to the MG lineup.

  27. It looks very nineties indeed. It’s cool but not my thing. I’m more that kind of guy that wants his Gundam with all kinds of stuff, to the point that it looks even comical. xD

  28. Its good that you can add to the F-91 later without too much hassle. All those new Build Divers kits look great, love the concepts for all of them.

  29. Ayye thanks for reading my comment. You guys missed a handful of gimmicks on the F91. I think if you mentioned the energy shield, the wings on its shoulders, and the open flaps behind its legs it would have grabbed more viewers attention to buying it. Cube of knowledge huh? Sounds like something from the Justice League movie. XD

  30. A nice F91 we have there. By the way, I look forward to see how this mecha-oriented show will review the … um … elaborated Figurerise LABO Fumina 😀 Let the guys handle this Lindsay.

  31. Any chance we’ll get a comparison of the Bandai Arbalest and the Kotobukiya Arbalest? Both are 1/60 scale, but the Bandai one is based off the latest anime incarnation while the Kotobukiya one is older (it was first shown several years ago at one hobby show or another) and is based on the Arbalest’s design from the earlier anime seasons/original novel.

  35. Just a suggestion in order to not embarrass yourselves next time, look up information based on the kits you’re presenting before you start recording XD Or add the information in text when it’s called for in the video (as a fun fact sort of thing). Don’t worry about pronunciation. ;)

  38. The F-91 is great but without its markings it just looks like a slightly larger FG from the 90’s.

  53. Hello,Iam french (so sorry for mistakes if there is.. 🙂 and i’m new to gunpla TV. I really do hope (as some are saying), that they would put more often leds options in hg/rg. And i guess the standard basic base stand should probably be integrated in gunpla boxes by default (like with the hg 1/144 Exia Dash. That would be really more practical to display our gunpla. In particulary for beginners..
And I just saw the re-edit of the g-system NZ-666 Kshatriya… omfg,i’d love one of these !!! But the price is very expensive (754 usd without shipping !), So i really hope one day bandai will release à 1/100 Rg kshatriya, (not as impressive as the g-system, but that would be great !)like they did for Msn06 Sinanju.
