Happy chinese new year fellow Hobby-Linkians! Year of the horse! Word of advice, although it’s the year of the horse, don’t start betting on horses. ; )

Those who celebrate it, received many Red Envelopes (hóngbāo)? Imagine a large one that contained Gunpla?! 😛

Haven’t been here for a while now. ^_^ how is everyone?

    • Heya. I’m feeling good overall except I am a tiny tiny bit nauseated.

      • Late reply so i’m sure you’re not nauseated anymore @savvi
entered anything for the late competition?

        • Yup, I’ve entered a 1/144 Geara Zulu from the Unicorn series. I don’t think I’ll win anything, mostly because there are so many other better modellers in the competition. I even saw the a awesome painted Warhammer fig, those miniatures are tiny and that modeller did a awesome job with it (Intermediate section). Also, in the same category, someone…[Read more]

          • Yep. But mine was just on the beginner level. I did a 1/100 MG MS-06R-1A Zaku II ver 1.0 all I did were detail with Gundam metallic markers. Some panel lining… I think I could have done some seam line removal… But I didn’t. Check out my pictures if you can. I really like the out come, but like you, I am not to sure of a victory in any placement.

    • I’m doing pretty well, I’m in the last few days of my summer holiday at the moment so I’m pretty much gaming and modeling until school starts back up. What have you been up to @jecht-kian ?

      • Nice! Wish I had summer holidays. My last days for school was June 2007…. Now, I’m all work and gunpla and kids. As of now, just kids and work, busy busy plus Valentines is coming up. I work in a kitchen restaurant by the way. Can’t wait for that to end, so i can get back to building. Well I hope you enjoy the rest of your holidays @corn-wizard

        • I picked up Pokemon X to play with my friends and have got about 30 hours on that but the main one is monster hunter 3 ultimate… which I may have gotten 350+ hours played since I got it earlier last year. Also league of legends which pretty much everyone plays now.
Any games you play between work, family and gunpla?

          • I actually got a 3dsxl around October for the pokemon x. I played for a while, anytime I had time for myself without gunpla, but at my cousin, who was my secret Santa got me the legend of Zelda link to bbetween worlds? Lol forgot the title already, since New year came, I got my delivery and stopped playing for a while. New delivery means a new set…[Read more]

            • Apparently that Zelda game is really good but I haven’t bothered checking it out yet.
L.o.l really does eat away at your time but I only play with my friends for a bit of fun so I’m not nearly as badly affected add others.

Anyone watch the new anime Buddy Complex? It’s got my interest so far and I am really digging the suits they have shown. I have to imagine we’ll get some kits for them eventually, can’t wait!

Now if we’d only see kits from Majestic Prince. Lol!

    • Ah yes, that show is really fun to watch. I can’t help point out some Gundam-ish opening animation. =P Some parts feel like the Seed openings and some older series.

I would like to see some kits for this animation, Dio’s suit looks quite good.

    • I concur, really like the Luxon Valencer, and Cygnus their base ships designs.
      Hurry up Bandai 😀

What are places or things to see in Tokyo and Kyoto people would recommend?
I’m open to any ideas or places. Anything Anime, Manga, Gundam, Plamo, Pokemon, or video game would be of major interest. If you were going where would you go? The Bandai tour would be cool but looks a little out of the way and requires advanced tickets.

    • For Tokyo, hands down it is Akihabara. One stop shopping for everything you mentioned.

I have been to only two hobby shops in Kyoto, the one on the north side of the station is gone, and I don’t know if the one on the south side is still there. It is across from the enormous five story pagoda thingy. We dubbed it “the hobby shop in a closet”…[Read more]

    • It isn’t included in your ‘major interest’ category but I would highly recommend seeing some of the shrines around Kyoto as well as the Golden Temple. Also try and see if there are any local festivals going on near where you are staying.
When I went to Japan a few years ago my host family took me to the Kawagoe (a city near Tokyo) festival and it…[Read more]

Anyone here a fan of the soundtracks for any Gundam shows? I’ve been exercising for the past 2 months and when I find myself doing the treadmill or bike I find my Gundam SEED and SEED Destiny OSTs go along great with what I am doing.

I’m looking to increase my catalog and I believe Gundam 00 and Wing had some cool songs throughout the show, but…[Read more]

Hey guys, any good anime that you have been watching lately (aside from Gundam Build Fighters)? I have recently tried a few different shows and am glad to see there are great shows to be discovered. I apologize in advance if this post is long, lol!

I started off by watching Sword Art Online just before I started building Gunpla and found it to be…[Read more]

    • Hello Bud! @superxvegito I haven’t got any new animes to recommend to you for now. I haven’t watched any animes lately. Before I was watching the Tiger N Buddy but I haven’t finished it yet. Get the Wild Tiger, Bud. It’s awesome!

What I have finished so far is the Gundam 00 Series, Season 1, Season 2 and the OVA Awakening of the Trail Blazer. And…[Read more]

    • Hey bro… thanks for the post! The longer the better haha. Sorry I’ve been pretty busy with that thing called Real Life. Lol… only started a Gunpla build last night! Thats like 3 weeks without building. I was a little bit burned out from
      all that building weeks ago.

Anyway, interesting you should mention anime cos I was actually watching…[Read more]

      • Thanks for the suggestions @phillitan, understand that real life thing, lol! All this NFL and hockey taking up my free time!

I do enjoy more than just mecha anime but for some reason I am in a kick on those at the moment. I have seen Oreimo and thoroughly enjoyed that one. The rest are new to me so I will totally check them out.

        Btw, what kit…[Read more]

    • @superxvegito I’ve started building my MG Zaku II Shin Matsunaga Custom 2 days bk. Fun build. Lotsa details to throw in my gundamarkering. Will post soon!

    • Oh and one more nice anime in the style of Fate stay/night is High School DxD. Its an anime abt fighting with sorcery and magic but with boobs. Definitely NSFW LOL. Enjoy!

      • fate stay/night is “OK” while Fate/Zero is a “BADASS” anime, but high school DxD is a bit on the down side of my list. if you want some booby action then… go for it.

        Danshi koukouse no nichijou
        Shingeki no Kyojin
        Blood Lad
        Hataraku Maou-sama
        Suisei no Gargantia
        Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai!
Macross Frontier and too many to mention bro

    • Not mecha, Kuroko no Bask. Its basket ball. I really enjoy this show because it makes you wish that back in the day school you’d could pull off them moves they have hahaha.

Another show is worth picking up is:
Nagi-Asu: A Lull in the Sea, known in Japan as Nagi no Asukara
      Really diggin’ this show.

Kill La Kill, the art is really cool and its got…[Read more]
