  1. Okay, I was fooled again. When I saw the photo of the Hulk advertising Boss Builds 14, I initially thought the build was already finished. Still must remind myself to read the text first before watching the video. 🙂

I agree that the paint applications for the pre-painted figures looks pretty darn good. The stands, too, are much more impressive compared to the ones included with the non-painted kits. Too bad they don’t sell the painted stands separately.

Interesting episode showcasing the comparison between the two versions of the kits and I’m already looking forward to the next one. Cheers.

  2. Hi Brian, great to see you back. re the subject of “is it vinyl?”.

An easy test is to place a sample part (carefully) in very hot water. If the plastic gets soft very quickly it should be vinyl not resin. The vinyl will return to its harder state on cool-down. The hot water method is used for cutting and reshaping vinyl parts. Again I mention safety, its best to use a new blade. The old adage of “a rusty blunt blade is a more dangerous blade” comes to mind here. I’m sure that you probably know this already but a lot of modellers will not have made this type of kit before.

Many thanks again for a superb series of tutorials.

  3. I think Brian could top that of the prepainted version’s base by customising a diorama base for his Hulk kit. It would be a great opportunity to demonstrate how to build diorama and scenic base as well, something we haven’t seen yet on Boss Build or Gunpla TV.
