I had this kit sitting in my build pile for a while, and after seeing some love for different versions of this mobile suit, I finally decided to give it a go. I tried lots of new things with this kit. This was the first kit I fully hand-painted. First kit I used washes and dry brushing on. First kit I tried to photograph properly. It is pretty much a straight build. I only changed the color of the shield to a lighter gray. I really went crazy with the washes on all the red parts. I wanted the mechanical bits to really stand out. I love the effect. I know my brushwork still needs wrk, but I saw a huge improvement from when I started it. I messed up a few times and had to go back and fix it.
Let me know what you think. I had lots of fun building this kit. I’ve already started on my next one and trying more new things on it. I’ve been building Gunpla on and off for over 15 years (my first was the F-90 back in ’97). This was the most fun I have had building a kit. If you’ve never painted a kit, give it a try!

@luque, thanks. I am currently working on the HG 00 QAN[T]. I really like HG kits. I don’t have a ton of free time, so they are perfect. I have the MG Turn-A Gundam sitting in my build pile, and I am thinking of doing that one next.
