What are you building? 8 years, 9 months ago Wings done and this kit looks pretty good. Its the first kit ive done in almost 10 years so its been a great learning experience, plus its the first kit ive done decals on. Just have to fight through this “weapons block” that im experiencing and this one will be ready for display.

How long have you been working on this now? This kind of awesome result makes me tempted to try get better at hand painting so I can give a full repaint a go.
I started this kit back in Feb and finished last night. Total time on the kit (yes i timed it) was roughly 85 hrs. That is not including paint dry time since i stop the clock when i put my brush down. The water slides alone were about 9 hrs worth of work. Lots of time in this kit but i think it was worth it.
When it comes to hand painting the biggest problem ive run into is brush lines on big pieces. ive found a way around it but it takes a bit of time. Dry brushing the whole piece seems to eliminate any brush lines but takes LOTS of layers to get the right color. Also the drying time between coats is almost triple to avoid removing the previous layer due to the pressure on the brush from dry brushing.
The effect is outstanding.
