I’m gonna be building my own custom gunpla for the second time starting soon, being inspired by Gundam Build Fighters. I want to know if there’s any way of being able to make your own custom parts, and if so, where?

    • Custom parts are just made from whatever you can find really. You can use an already existing piece and modify that or you can make up a custom piece from pla plate and putty. Or just a combination of both. You can then try to replicate the piece if you need another one or you can cast an identical piece by using your existing modified piece (alot of piece I know). But there isn’t a service that I know of that can create a custom piece for you.

I hope I was able to help you even if just a little

    • No problem at all 🙂
I guess it depends on the piece you are trying to make. If you want, you can start off with drawing the design you want to make. And decide if you want to use putty, pla plate and/or scribing some new panel lines.

You can start the process by drawing the shapes you want on the pla plate. After that, you can start adding the putty where it needs to go. While the putty cures, you can start cutting out the pla plate then just sand out the edges a little. It make the piece look much better. From there, you can ‘test fit’ the pla plate on the piece by putting some blu tack on the cut out pla plate. Just a little so you can get an idea of how it will look in the piece. By the time you have done this and made any alterations or additions to the shapes of pla plate, the putty might have finished curing then you can just sand it down into the shape you want.
The last step might be to scribe panel lines onto the pieces if you want. After scribing, just sand it down a little bit, so the panel line looks nicer.

You can then try doing this process again to replicate the piece or you can try making a mold out of silicone then using liquid resin to remould it. That takes some resources though and is a little costly. I believe there might be a way to make a mold out of putty but not really sure.

What piece/s are you trying to make? Just out of curiosity.

Just let me know if you need any more help, I’d be glad to assist
