Building Valvrave Hito. I really like how the kit is designed – it’s pretty much an HG (HGUC-level) kit but with internal frame and has some stuff you don’t see on HG (check the core cover with green transparent bars on the pictures). It comes with a huge foil sticker list (72 stickers) and here’s the main and only downside of the kit – the Valvrave logos are also foil stickers. You can paint the kit to have avoid using stickers, but you won’t have any logos. If you apply the stickers, they are thick and will be really visible. The worst part is that printing on foil has lower resolution than transparent stickers that come with new HGUC, MG or RG kits. I totally don’t understand why logos had to be made on foil and not on separate transparent sticker sheet.

    • I’m just starting on this kit also, and indeed, the stickers are a big let-down. And even the white edges not being separate pieces is a let down when most of the similar white edge detail on LBX Lucifer (a 900 yen kit) is done with separate pieces (yes, there’s stickers too, but at least they tried).

      • Well, I’m not that disappointed with the fact that there lots of white stickers – a lot of the trim goes on small parts (this guy is the size of a medium HG kit – I guess as high as HGUC Unicorn Gundam). I’m disappointed that the logos were done on foil stickers as opposed to usual Bandai practice of putting any markings on the transparent film stickers or dry transfers. I mean, come on, new Seed RM HG kits have these, why not on this kit?

        • Just got a base coat of the white onto the red pieces, ready to mask for the white details. I think the only issue is going to be going through the manual to find which pieces have the white edge!

The kit seems nice enough so far. I’m looking forwards to painting the clear parts.

          • Oh yeah, lack of colored sticker scheme a-la RG. is another issue with this much stickers. BTW, some guy used the kit’s foil stickers to mask the white trim on HGUC Geara Zulu, you can try and do the same.

            • Yup, stickers work great as custom masks for painting. I did that on MG Sinanju for the shield and it worked well.

    • That’s a bummer regarding the stickers. I was very interested in this kit, but perhaps I’ll wait until water slide decals become available.

Look forward to the rest of your build though.
