It is historical. The 520 Temporary Interception Regiment. Thought just the one pilot (name unknown to me at least) painted the hare on his plane. Other planes just had the various plane numbers on nose and tail. Flight leader had an eagle on his planes’s tail.
If I had done my own it would be a cat 😉
