*(Please note: this is NOT my final submission!)*
What self-respecting Sandrock would go into the desert without a cape? Well, not mine, if I have anything to say about it!
I made this cape entirely from scratch using this small white cotton sheet I got for $0.99 at Walmart.
First, I cut out a general shape tailored to the Sandrock’s body.
Then, I used a hobby knife to cut and shred the fabric to give it that tattered appearance from having been subjected to the desert wind for (?) number of years. I have a couple pictures to show the test fit at this stage.
Next, I applied a Rustoleum brand Satin Chestnut spray paint on the front and back.
And finally, the last thing I did was to dip the cape in a coffee bath to stain the fabric to just the right tone I was looking for.
And voila, Sandrock is all done!
BUT!
As I said before this is NOT my final submission. There’s one more thing I want to do that I think will really take this project to the next level. It shouldn’t be too hard either…
Wish me luck!

Awesome work, all too often you see capes that just look wrong, but yours fits PERFECTLY! well done 😛
Thank you!
I’m really happy with the way it turned out too.
