Hey everyone! So I’m sure there are plenty of places I could google search this, but I felt my question was best suited for this group. After getting excited over starting to watch Gundam Build Fighters, I finally started to build my Hy-Gogg. Though as an artist, I want to make sure that I do everything I can to make sure this one comes out nicely for my first serious Gunpla build. I’m not going to worry about getting any air brush equipment yet, but what would be some essential tools for me to have? I have some wire cutters that have been helpful, and an exacto knife, but not much else. Any and all advice would be appreciated. I plan on making Gunpla my ultimate hobby away from my normal work, so knowing the 101 to the tools may be a good place to start. Then once I’ve made a couple of good builds via what I learn hear, I’ll start making a series of custom RX-78 models.

    Thanks again everyone!

    • for the most common tools you need, side cutters ( preferablly for plastic, this tool is the most used tool ) you could find a bunch of them at HLJ.com. If you are really serious in the hobby getting the best side cutters is a must (God Hand, a bit pricey but is IMO the best side cutters for plastic models ) files, which you can also find in HLJ. and a hobby knife and a cutting mat. For other additional tools you can also get a pin vise, plastic scriber, and a handcraft saw. There’s a lot more. Hope this helps

      • also sandpaper, you’ll want some high grit sandpaper to do the final smoothing on the parts after filing.

You also mention customizing so I’m guessing you’ll likely need some plastic cement and plaplast(sheets of plastic, Syd demonstrated it’s use a few episodes ago but I don’t remember the episode number)
