Just finished the initial build of the 1/100 MG Gundam Unicorn Ver. Ka. Broke a joining piece in the head and one in the right front skirt. 🙁 I glued the skirt one but not the head.

I’m going to test a transformation (hopefully without breaking these pieces) but I’m a little unsure of the order I plan on taking for the rest of the build.

What I plan to do next is:

    1. Transform and check areas for showing nub marks and any tricky areas.
    2. Dissasemble in order to fix nub marks on both clear and regular pieces with Tamiya Polishing Compound. (Just got this in the mail)
3.Clear Coat (gloss) clear pieces with Spray cans (Is this going to make the transformation tricky?).
4.Transform into Unicorn (all white) mode.
    5. Tamiya weathering master to (hopefully) create a shadow effect without the need for airbrushing).
    6. Gloss coat on white and other non-clear pieces.
    7. Enamel wash for panel lines and waterslide decals.
    8. Flat coat for non-clear pieces.

I’m kind of scared to stuff it up, so any advice/constructive criticism on my proposed work-flow would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks! 🙂

    • It was an issue I heard from others that the plastic that was made for the unicorn ver ka was brittle. but I haven’t confirmed that yet as I dont have the ver ka. What I have is the HD Color Ver. + MS Cage

      • I think it’s similar, although I’m not totally sure either. I think the regular MG is definitely better than the Ver. Ka., at least from what I’ve heard. Have you built the HD Color Ver. + MS Cage yet? If you have, any issues?
