Today is a sad day , I had to scrap the majority of what i already had painted as the paint was ruined after some of the sprues rubbed together inside their box . So today i ordered a whole new kit and will be up and running again soon with the O project . On the bright side i can always repaint my orignal o another color and have two custom versions . Still this sucks as today i was doing my first test build with this project .
sad to hear that 🙁
sad day indeed! stay strong!
Thanks I will
Wait, so you’re worried about the paints scratching? As long as you didn’t scratch up the plastic, use Simple Green and it’ll take the paint right off! You don’t need to start all over again.
Just let them soak ? Any scrubbing ill need to do ?
Let em soak then wash them with a toothbrush to get in any corners/panel lines to get rid of any paint that the stripper didn’t clean out. If you can’t get simple green, try 90% rubbing alcohol. It will even take off lacquer.
^Squee’s right. Scrubbing really depends on how thick the layer and type of paint(s) used are.
Cool , well I already got a new kit but I’m still gonna try this . Think ill do another custom job on the old one
Thanks man I’ll try this
Wish you the best of luck! 😀 I used enamel paints on an old Blade Liger’s armor (first try at a camo paint job), let it sit in a little container with simple green for five hours, then just scrubbed off the paint with an old tooth brush. Looks so much better without paint: http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j229/J_R381/Before-and-After-with-Simpl.jpg
Another good paint remover is easy-off oven cleaner. I have had great success with it removing paint without eating the plastic. I had to do that with several kits, including one i have since finished and is my best paint job ever.
need not worry… may the force b with you! u will do it better and correct these hic-ups in the previous! 😉 Good luck!
