Intermediate Modeler – Modeling Competition 2013 9 years, 6 months ago today’s update. base coated the panel armors with Krylon silver last night to prepare for the clear color coating that i will apply next. Also added some noobishly scribed some new panel lines there as well, learning not to scribe too heavily next time. Also drilled some detail holes on the side. This set of pics also shows some of the detail work i brushed in on the tubes and neck rings.

looking good, did you use a reverse wash for the gold trim?
I did not use reverse panel washing on this one. It’s just gundam marker gold and black fine gundam marker. Then for the small copper tubes and silver highlights I used a fine brush and mr. Hobby silver. I used an off the counter water-based copper color for the tube.
did you paint as you build the parts? always fun to see the finish part even just a portion of it.

Yes I paint as I build. Sometimes I build the whole body before painting but with this build I’m pretty sure what the color scheme would be so I paint as I go. And no, I did not do panel washing. That’s just gundam marker gold coated twice and the gundam marker black fine point for the excess gold. It was fairly fun since the trim is slightly raised from the black panels. Then I just coated the black parts with gloss clear coat.
