Took a couple of test shots to check my lighting and how well the detail shows up. I have to do a more obvious highlighting/shading job next time. I always underestimate how much the gloss and then flat coats are going to darken and blend the coats together. This really is one of those projects where I wish I had another week to work on it though. I really wanted to do some chipping and streaking on this kit and the base is a little plain.

I’m going to read over the rules one more time then take and submit my final pics.

  I avoid putting a varnish over the weathering. I put it on after bascoats and decals, to save the paint, while working on it with thinners and stuff. Otherwise it kills all the efford put into the weathering. changes colors, unifies the shine, and so on. For a shiny gloss kit, it is for sure different.
