Jeez, would have guessed someone else would share some info, maybe like the person whom got the information from me before….. Anyways…,
This is rather simple. You only need a few things in order to do this.
First a panel lining scriber or a small drill bit.
With the panel lining scribing tool, just keep on scribing in the panel line until the part that you wanted separated comes off. Then just sand the edges to get the result you want.
With the drill bit just drill a lot of small holes side by side in the the part you want to separate. Afterwards clean the edges with a file and/or sand paper. It goes without saying, the smaller the tool you work with, be it a scriber or drill bit, the less material you take off and get a smoother fitting hatch.
After this, you can use some pla-plate to make “hinges” or some styrene rods to create the effect of pistons holding the hatches open.
