This weeks question: What is less embarrassing when bringing a hot date home?
A: Your amazing plastic model collection or B: Your amazing action figure collection.

    • Luckly for me the girl im interested in loves anime and really likes it when I show her my models orο»Ώ share my anime. So the models are less embarrassing

    • My anime figures collection….

    • Action Figure collection, because Model Kits show work and dedication

    • Models would definitely be less embarrassing for me, as there’s definitely work involved to get them looking like they do. My wife loves both though!

    • Either one is probably equal but at least you can say you had to assemble the Gunpla as opposed to just collecting a massive He-Man collection. Most girls think they are all toys or dolls anyway. LOL

    • My models stand against figure and game collection. Guys are jelous and girls thinks I’m still a child πŸ˜‰

    • I had one of my friends see my models for the first time and tell me that I can never show girls my room hahahah. Though usually people see my kits and say its awesome.

    • Where’s the POLL! πŸ˜‰

I’d say action figures are more embarrassing. An Action figure collection might suggest you’re still a big kid (though aren’t we all really) and that you’re one of those nerds that reads comics and argues about which superhero would beat who.

A model kit collection would suggest you have a hobby, specifically building models. If anything, it might suggest you’re introverted, a loner and live in a basement building these things, but she’d know that’s not the case if you’ve managed to land this so called “hot date” πŸ˜‰

    • It depends on what kind of figures and what kind of models. I think something like a Walking Dead figure would be more acceptable than a Gundam model, but a model airplane or tank would be more acceptable than a Ben 10 figure or something. Also, honestly, if you’re dating someone who’s not a geek they probably wouldn’t think much of a difference between them.

    • Most people call my models Transformers and think they are figures.

I think I agree with what Syd said in the show. With a model you are showing off your creativity and creating a talking point which can take the pressure off and help reduce the nerves that both parties are feeling. Perhaps you can even score some points for being an artist.
Where as figures to me are not creative, it’s OK to have them, I have a Dragonball Z figure on my desk. If you bring a girl home and she gets excited about your collection of Star Wars toys, she a keeper, but it’s a big IF.

    • In my experience building models are more acceptable than collecting action figures. When people hear that I collect figures they are turned off by it, but when they actually see my collection they are amazed by it.

    • As seems to be the unanimous choice, I think an amazing plastic model collection is less embarrassing. 1. You may score points for artistry and craftsmanship. 2. You are showing you have commitment!

    • I don’t think that it should embarrassing no matter what you collect, you shouldn’t care about it if it’s something that you really enjoy doing or collecting. I get a lot of shit from everyone except my girlfriend about collection both figures and models. But I don’t let it get to me because this is something that I enjoy doing, and I think that’s how we all should be.

    • Depend on what kind of action figure. I only collect the cool looking ones and the ones with a ‘story’ that I know. You can buy action figure and everyone can buy it. But when it comes to Gundam, it is one of a kind. So it is less “embarrassing” from my opinion.

    • I feel like model collection is less embarrassing, simply because it takes artistic ability and patience to work and produce a good model kit. The more artsy of a girl, more likely than not, the more they can appreciate it (therefore not embarrassing at all). Action figures are sort of different, as you’re not participating in anything except spending money. Girls would probably like you to spend more money on them. (May be embarrassing if you’ve devoted half your salary towards this).
Both models and action figures require artistic appreciation. Models you get art participation which will mean more to certain girls.

    • I found the girl… Married the girl… then brought my “Fig’s & Models” out of the closet. Lol
In my circle of friends, both are accepted and appreciated for there worth.
But to answer the question. (A) would be the way to go!

    • Hello guys, this question is a funny one, not a lot of girls are in to our hobby, be it kit building or collecting the toys, however my buddys wife is just into gundam as we are and they both have kits all over the house. My girlfriend doesnt understand them yet but loves that I can build them, and we sit and build them together, people who dont understand can talk all they want about us, but its there lose. Cheers from Phoenix Arizona US, hope its not as hot in Japan as it is here
