Hi,
I’ve completed a lot of work on the model.
starting with painting the model in light gray. Next details painting with a brush.
Lastly spraying Tamiya’s clear which I always spray two thin layers as a glossy base for decals.I used Micro sol and Micro set as decal softeners, so far they didn’t disappoint me.
All the decals where added this way.
Next I marked where the ship will be placed on the base. Most work was done on the aircraft.
For the wessex helicopters, I had to create the folded rotors by taking bits of PE and glue them together.
The Gannets I started by cutting off the nozzles. Then glued two of Eduard’s four bladed rotors from one of their 1:700 aircraft detail sets, and then glued the nozzles back in place.
I then cut the wings and glued them back in folded positions/For the buccaneers and sea vixen additional work was necessary. As they are white ensign resin cast planes, the wings were difficult to glue. I cut them and added small bits of folded PE to act as a hinge on which I glued the cut wings.
Then everything was primed and painted, and the decals were glued in place. I found wonderful option for 1:700 aircraft markings from pico-armour store.
The planes were weathered and placed in storage.
The small vessels were taken from various flyhawk models kits and from the spare box.
thanks for taking a look,
Eyal.
