My 1/32 Volks/ Zoukei-Mura He 219 A-0 Cutaway. It was supposed to be done for the 2013 contest, but got away from me when I decided to do all of the cutaway work. Half of the model is built as a cutaway to depict the interior workings of the plane. Adding to that, I decided to depict one of the engines in a further cutaway to show items like the pistons, etc. Thus, a “cutaway within a cutaway”. 😉

Color photo etch cockpit, metal gun barrels, fabric seat belts are all used… Paint is Gunze Mr. Color and Vallejo, with weathering done with AK Interactive products (weathering is kept to a minimum to preserve the “industrial illustration” aspect of the model).

I was very happy to present this to Mr. Shigeta (owner of Volks) at the 2014 IPMS Nationals. I was honored that he enjoyed my build and even included a photo of he and I with it on his personal blog (gah, my crazy beard! lol).
