Hi all, I’m new to hobbylink tv but not on the gunpla hobby 🙂
Just wanted to post question i’m trying to find solution for few months now, let me explain.
I build few MG/PG/RG models so far but my last 2 kits are MG with water slide decals. The Sazabi and the Hi Nu which is in progress. I completed the sazabi and applied all the decals but what my surprise every time i try to manipulate the models the decals are falling (or stick on my fingers) what can i do to let them stick correctly and that they stay forever. More information:
    – I’m not painting my models, just build them out of the box
    – I completed the Sazabi months ago, how can I make the decals safely stick now afterward?
    – The Hi nu is in progress and i don’t want to start the decals part before i get your answers and the proper steps to start !!! Thanks 🙂

    • If you’re not worried about painting and everything, and just want them to stay, you can either use some decal set, or spray the parts with a clear coat after applying decals. Decal set will have instructions on how to use it. Clear coat will let change the look of the kit depending on the type you use(flat or gloss).

    • Also put the decals in warm water. This will make the sort of glue that is on them more active. And like Slater4u said, use Decal Set. Just put a few drops in the water before placing the decals in. After they have dried for at least an hour, put some Decal Soft on top and let this also dry for at least one hour. After that you can apply the Decal Soft again if desired. This will make sure the decal adheres to the surface better and take the shape of the piece it is put on better.
But to be absolutely sure they stay on, again, just like Slater4u said, apply a top coat.
The decal solutions and top coats are made by a variety of brands, so it shouldn’t be a problem to find one. Good luck and happy building

      • Thanks guys,

Bought decal soft from microset. Not sure if the brand is good, smells a little like vinegar…
Anyway, followed all your advices and those @##©$@! decals are still peeling. (stay on my finger when i manipulate the gundam to pose it.

Any idea what im doing wrong
Im thinking to buy top coat but im affraid they will still fall
