HGAC Gundam Heavyarms Unboxing

HGAC Gundam Heavyarms

The HGAC Gundam Heavyarms is here, a kit 20 years in the making! I’m so excited for this one, personally, as I love Gundam Wing and am so happy to see its kits being updated and added into modern lines.

The Heavyarms is a heavy-artillery mobile suit designed for long-range combat — but also has a trick up its sleeve for melee combat: a Gundanium Alloy knife! We also get gimmicks for several concealed gun and missile panels, optional gatling gun configurations, and some really stellar color separation.

There are two types of runners in this kit: 2020 Heavyarms-specific runners with, of course, all-new molding; and two 2019 “Gundam W frame” runners, which appear to be carried over from the Sandrock that came out last year.

Let’s get to it!

This is the second Gundam Wing HGAC kit in two years, so we’ve got our fingers crossed for the remaining three (hopefully without a one year wait between each one)! If you need something to tide you over, be sure to check out last year’s Sandrock review if you haven’t already.

And get ready — the review for this kit will be up right here at hobbylink.tv later today (JST)!

…And of course, you can get yours here:

If any kits in this post are backordered when you read this, don’t worry — Bandai is great about restocking periodically. But, you’ll want to get your order in to secure a spot in line for the next restock!

Her favorite lines are Hasegawa's Mechatro WeGo line, Meng's World War Toons Pinky line, and weird miscellany like Platz's bonsai tree kits. In general, if it's a detailed miniature that's too small to be useful for anything other than taking up space, she'll probably love it.

  1. The fact that HGs are now implementing an inner frame system amazes me.
By the way, where are the pictures…? 🤔

    • Very sorry — the gallery system we were trying out seems to be disagreeing with us! The images have been fixed.
As for the frame — well, it’s not a proper inner frame, but rather the inner mechanical parts that are used in the arms and legs.
