Gunpla TV – Episode 368 – New Arrivals For July 17th

A few new Bandai Hobby releases are in this week. From the Gundam side, we get two new accessory packs from the “Build Divers” series for the Neptate Gundam! You’ll need a Core Gundam on hand to build it, but the results are sure to be out of this world.

Speaking of things which are out of this world: a new “Doraemon” is on the table! This one comes from the Entry Grade line and contains only 13 parts total. It’s great for ages 3 and up according to the box — or for “Doraemon” fans of any age.

The big item this week is the new Digimon release, of course. Figure-rise Standard MetalGarururmon (Amplified) roars into stock! There’s also a new Figure-rise Kamen Rider Den-O and Sakura Wars Mugen kit, by the way.

If any of the kits you’ve got your eye on are backordered, don’t worry — Bandai is great about restocking periodically. But, you’ll want to get your order in to secure a spot in line sooner rather than later!

In this episode:
1/144 HGBD:R Nepteight Weapons
1/144 HGBD:R Nepteight Unit
Figure-rise Standard MetalGarurumon (Amplified)
Entry Grade Doraemon
Figure-rise Standard Kamen Rider Den-O Sword Form & Plat Form
1/24 HG Spiricle Fighter Mugen (Azami Mochizuki Type)

Level 75 Marketing Mage. Editor, admin, and occasional code monkey. Stand User in her free time. Though she does build kits when time allows, time doesn't allow often. Her favorite lines are Hasegawa's Mechatro WeGo line, Meng's World War Toons Pinky line, and weird miscellany like Platz's bonsai tree kits. In general, if it's a detailed miniature that's too small to be useful for anything other than taking up space, she'll probably love it.

  2. I don’t think I’d mind the nickel and diming on the Planets System so much if ever armor piece was unique. Really stood out to me recently on the Bandai Hobby Channel that the Earth, Mars, Venus and Jupiter were basically all the same mold with a few different pieces. It’s even worse in the newer iterations, even more obvious they’re the same mold just in different colors and a new V fin.

Essentially the black form of Den-O is a default mode onto which other armor pieces can be equipped. That’s the simplest way to explain it before getting into time travelling trains and imagination demons. Kamen Rider can be a wild ride.

Thankfully I’m just old enough for the Doraemon kit. It’s adorable and I can’t wait to ship it along with my growing pile in the private warehouse.

  4. Nice selection of stuff! I actually like the Core Gundams, but I do agree that they really should sell Core Gundams separately, but then again you’d still need to buy a Core Gundam and the armour separately. The core concept (pun intended!) is good, execution could be improved, maybe just sell Core Gundams without armour and then the armour bits separately, then you’re not stuck having to buy a Core unit with an armour part that you’re not fond of. Or maybe we’ll get a super deluxe set one day with one Core unit and all armour parts included, that would be something else, haha!!

  5. I agree that it would be nice to see Mobile Suit Gundam Age getting more kits; specifically the rest of the MGs and an RG line up of kits.
It’s too bad that PFF-X7II/N8 Nepteight Gundam is also prey to the DLC release.

  6. I need to finish watching Gundam Age, I dropped it mid way during the ‘second generation’. Also Iron Blooded Orphans I didn’t even finish the first season due to lack of time.

  8. I don’t remember seeing Metalgarurumon wielding one of his “wings” on his mouth as a sword, but it’s a cool gimmick to include in this kit.
