The latest release in the Hi-Resolution model lineup is here: the God Gundam, as seen in the peculiar anime series “G-Gundam!” If you aren’t familiar with Hi-Resolution model Gunpla line, they feature inner frames that come pre-built with outer armor and weapons that will need to be assembled like a traditional model kit.
On top of that, they have a nice, shiny coating, and plenty of cool parts to make them look super sharp on your shelf. Check out our God Gundam review, and let us know what you think about the Hi-Res line down in the comments!
In this episode:
– 1/100 Hi-Resolution Model God Gundam

ooh shiny Gundam

Great articulation and detail on this figure! I really like the G Gundam series, very very different from typical Gundam series and more like a battle anime then a political one, still thoroughly enjoyable all the same!

glad that there are less stickers

This one will not become one of my favorites. As for an Hi Resolution Kit, there could be more details such as panels lines and more detailed wings or legs as well as a better color scheme. I find the wow effect is missing for me. And I wish to the person coughing in the background, a speedy recovery.

Other than the fact that it has parts popping off while you move the limbs, it looks amazing.

Gesundheit for somebody behind scenes.

Exactly.
That’s precisely why I think it’d be great if Bandai made:
– MG GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam [Ver. 2.0]
– MG GF13-017NJII God Gundam [Ver. 2.0]
– MG GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam (Super Mode) [Ver. 2.0]
– MG GF13-017NJII God Gundam (Hyper Mode) [Ver. 2.0]

This was the same case back with the original MGs from Mobile Fighter G Gundam.
Bandai emphasized how articulate the kits with the 「Fighting Action」 inner frame.

That is cool how they include these thick, rubber, stickers to put on the bottom of this model kit’s feet to help it stay in place.
I guess you got lucky with the spare set of the rubber stickers?

I’m surprised this doesn’t come with water slide decals.
That makes me suspicious that Bandai intends to include it with a Premium Bandai release of HiRM GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam.
I presume that release will have water slide decals included for the GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam and GF13-017NJII God Gundam.
It’s a common practice that Bandai employs to incentivize consumers into buying other related products; the whole 「sold separately」 practice.
I feel like Bandai’s long term plan is to make the HiRM kits, and then make a new MG version a few months later.
For example, Bandai made the HiRM ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos [Form 4] and in a few weeks, MG ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos [Form 4] will be released.
Perhaps if this is true, we’ll (finally) get a new version of MG XXXG-00W0 Wing Gundam Zero Custom [EW] and also MG XXXG-01W Wing Gundam [EW] since those 2 are a few MGs that I’ve been 「really」 waiting for an updated release.
If they are made, hopefully Bandai bases them off of the 「Glory of the Losers」 manga series which is what the HiRM versions of them are based on.

With all of those muscles, it looks like a Dragonball Z figure.

I shouldn’t get so excited about a piece of plastic. But man, that halo effect part looks truly godly.

What Mobile Suit do you want to see in the Hi-Resolution series? I want to see a Gold Frame Amatsu Mina, or a Hi Nu Ver. KA.

Great~ Thank you! ^_^

Pretty cool shiny gundam, still not as cool as barbatos
