Oh boy, the Phenex is such an eye-sore. Probably better when animated, that chrome gold is just so impractical. That said, it would make it easier to do stuff like weathering, since it’s likely that sort of effect in metal would dull over time, so things like sanding off the chrome where you want to apply battle damage would work fairly well (given the way typical manufacture of anything metal is usually applying a layer to a harder, but more corrodable metal, so it would present the dull plastic gold colour underneath).
Speaking of stuff that tends to get missed out on Gunpla TV… any chance of us seeing the finished Gojulas The Ogre Todd was supposed to be finishing some time this millennium?

Bandai really should start engineering all kits with undergates, gives them the freedom to make special coating releases that won’t have unfavorable words spoken with the unsightliness of nub marks.
