1/72 Real Mechanical Collection: Jigabachi AV by Kotobukiya (Available From HobbyLink Japan Hlj.com)
This attack helicopter from Ghost in the Shell is all complete, and here it is!
The plates are empty with only a few parts Xed out on Plate C.
Optional landing gears looks good, and can roll somewhat.
Asymmetrical plugs to avoid mistakes.
More movable wheels on the front landing gear.
The missiles and other parts have hard to remove lines that you can see here at the back.
A cute Tachikoma, and the plate from which it came. 3 in total for even more kawaiiness.
The maximum ranges for the arms and legs. The arms may fall if moved any more. The legs can also move up and down.
The feet can be replaced by optional wheels if you’re into roller discos.
The gunpod deployed really demonstrates why it’s called a bee, and still attaches well to the quality stand.
A comparison with 1/144 Real Grade Skygrasper from Gundam Seed.
The dots on the gunpod should connect to the body, and can, but not easily.
The wings rotate all the way around.
With the optional landing gear on. Still looks good on the ground.
A few shots with a friendly neighborhood Tachikoma.
From Gundam UC Episode 4 Director’s Cut. What didn’t they include in that episode?
Finally, this kit is definitely good news for anyone who missed the original kit. For someone pretty unfamiliar with Ghost in the Shell (and to a lesser extent Kotobukiya) while putting it together I couldn’t help but feel that this was much more like a real military machine. The building process is easy, though the results are occasionally a bit frustrating in some parts, like when the pieces don’t connect well. The looks are good overall, but it would be better if more colors and water slides were added. However, it does a good job of capturing the feel of the anime, and is a fun kit overall. Thanks for reading!

hey rrobert i was wondering if this kit comes with any stickers for the cameras on the front gunpod face plate, because this kit could use some paint, it looks way too monochromatic right out of the box. anyway nice job on the build 🙂

Just cracked open the box containing the original kit again. Though the stand isn’t bad in the original kit, it’s white and square. I much prefer the look and black colour of the stand that was in the new kit that was reviewed. Will have to get out my magnifying lamp when I build this bird. Some of those parts are really tiny, especially for the Tachikoma. It will be a challenge, but my intention is to paint this kit, including the Tachikoma. Glad I was able to locate a colour guide for the kit that was translated into English. 🙂

@Al, well if you found a english guide, then share with the rest of us !!

This kit needs more Tachikomas. How much? How does infinity sounds? Koto should get on making Tachikoma kits.
Tim
Paint that sucker! 🙂

I really like how you draped the tachikoma and the heli on top of the model box. It looks like they are running around your room when you are not looking.
I expect nothing less from a Tachikoma!
