Following the unboxing, here is my review for Good Smile Company’s Chamber figure from Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet. As Sentinel also worked on this figure, expect a fusion of both their respective figma and Riobot toy lines. It’s also absolutely brilliant!

As this is the first real attempt at a Chamber toy, both Good Smile Company and Sentinel have delivered something really rather special. It’s also a deceptively challenging design to recreate but both companies have embraced that and managed to bring Chamber to life.

While the price is quite high, the toy is about the size of a large Robot Damashii figure. As such it doesn’t really use much in the way of diecast, though the figure is very light so it is not really necessary.

The sculpt and detailing are also pristine and the various printed warnings across the mecha are also present on the toy as well. The articulation is also incredibly good but as this is a descendant of the figma line, that’s hardly surprising.

What’s more, despite the slightly odd shape of the design, it can easily stand on its own. However, the figure does come with a very good stand that allows for some good aerial type poses.

In terms of accessories it comes with a variety of weapons as well as different hands, not to mention the propulsion “rings” that hover over Chamber’s head. The head cockpit also detaches like in the anime; you also get the chair and terminal. These are very small parts and have to be installed quite carefully, though.

Overall this is a really nice toy of a very different type of design. As it is more on the collector’s end of the spectrum it has a few delicate parts but it can be similarly played with like any figma or Riobot toy. So for fans of Gargantia, what are you waiting for? This is easily one of the best mecha toys of recent years and you’d be crazy not to pick one up now.
