EVA-01 has awoken thanks to Kotobukiya! Let’s take a close look at what’s in the box.
Great cover art with an attack pose coming right at you! Buy me is what I think it’s trying to say.
The box is the same size as an average Master Grade.
Same art on the side, but with the price 6200 JPY visible in the corner. Don’t forget you can get 20% off at HLJ.com!
Some pictures on the side of the box show some gimmicks, like the optional arm and halo.
When you crack open the box, the lighter colors may pop out at you even more than the iconic purple.
The top secret manual is just waiting to reveal its secrets. Namely how to build this plamo.
In this box, you’ll see a lot more pre-painted parts in plastic bags than in most of other kits.
Here are the plates shown in alphabetical order.
The water slide looks no different than those from the original EVA-01.
For some final thoughts, by now the EVA line from Kotobukiya has become pretty familiar. The shape, mobility and gimmicks have all been fun so far, so I’m looking forward to seeing what sets this one apart. The most likely suspect is going to be the option parts, but since even some of the new plates have parts that look similar to the original EVA-01 there may be the need to rebuild to enjoy all the options. Let’s check it out in the next part. Thanks for reading!
