The Production Model EVA-02b is all put together. Let’s take a look at this beast.

Good plastic nippers are really all that are required for a straight build.

Front and back views of EVA-02b, with some very cool asymmetry.

The head is very unique looking, and moves well for different angles.

The new arm can bend quite a bit, though not quite as well as the normal one.

The hatch at the back can open so you can take out the entry plug.

The armed poses can look quite menacing.

There are a lot of option parts, so you can also get a regular EVA-02.

You’ll need to work with the chest, and replace the left arm, left shoulder and head.

With the help of a stand, you can get more cool poses in either form.

This monstrous shooting pose looks great, and includes wires connected to the arm.

Taller but thinner than MG Gundam 2.0.

But a similar height with EVA-01 as you’d expect.

For some final thoughts, this kit keeps up the standards set by EVA-01 of the same series, but seems even more fun to put together. Cool poses are very easy to pull off thanks the large number of option parts included.  The only thing that could be better is that a whole second chest could be provided. Switching forms causes it some stress, so be careful please when you switch yours.  Overall, it’s a lot of fun from unbox to posing, and will look like a fun monster on your shelf.  Thanks for checking this out!

  1. The unit looks pretty darn cool in Beta mode, especially when the left arm weapon is extended! Didn’t notice that the eye sensors were pre-painted until I went back and looked at the Part 1 of the review again. It’s a nice touch. Paired with the EVA-01, I can imagine how these two would look great in a diorama. Thanks for the kit review.
