This is the second plastic kit by Kotobukiya from Metal Gear Solid series. Let’s see what’s inside the box!

Sharp cover art in proper Metal Gear style! The shiny silver background reminds me of Bandai’s titanium kits, but this is even more shiny, which is great for catching your eye on the shelf, but terrible for photos. This isn’t HG or RG Exia, it’s MG by the way.

Compared to even a larger MG, the box is a little bigger in all directions.

8400 JPY. for this kit. Don’t forget you can get 20% off at HLJ.com!

Some gimmicks shown on the side of the box, including the water jet cutter and different modes in the game.

When you open the box, the plates are nicely packaged.

Here’s a sample of the plate layout, but even more eyecatching is the pro painted images on the left.

If you want the pro look, the official color guide focuses only metallic colors to help make it look awesome.

A whole color page showing you where to add all the water slides.

It doesn’t seem very complex to build.

These two green parts have a tiny bit of pre-painting, and will combine to become the left and right side of the head.  5 figures are included in the same scale, but they don’t go inside anywhere.

A lot of water slides, with some very interesting patterns.  Katoki Hajime decals these are not.

For some final thoughts, I think this will be a fun kit to put together, and I’m excited about the amount of details that are carved into the parts.  Though the overall look of the body may seem a bit simple, the details hopefully should make up for it.  Now the question is, how will they impact the gimmicks and mobility? My only disappointment is naturally with the colors of the kit.  The images around the box and manual will really make you want to give the metallic paint job a try.  But let’s see how fun the build is, and how it looks right out of the box. Stick around to find out, and thanks for checking this out.
