1/100 Frame Arms Versus Set by Kotobukiya (Part 2: Review)

1/100 Frame Arms Versus Set by Kotobukiya – Available From HobbyLink Japan

Rrobbert184-FA Versus Set-Review (1)

The 2 Frame Arms from this VS set are all put together: Hresvelgr=Ater on the left vs Zelfikar on the right. They’re looking pretty wild, so let’s get this battle started!

All you need is a pair of nippers to put it together.

Fantastic detailing on the head and chest. Look how many nozzles there are!

The arms can bend 90°.

Rrobbert184-FA Versus Set-Review (8)
The legs however can bend less than 90° due to the armor.

His arm is looking pretty heavy armed up.

Or you can split them up.

Also, he’s got his lighter armed Baselard mode.

The expansion armors can also make 2 big shields to slap on his arms.

Back to Zelfikar, it’s almost the same height as MG Gundam 2.0. Now let’s check out Hresvelgr=Ater!

Empty plates look good when they’re in pearl white.

A close up shot of head and chest with a lot of clear blue and pearl white. Definitely a good combination.

His weapons are a very angry set of blades.

Duo Maxwell’s got nothing on this guy!

You may need a stand for more energetic aerial poses.

He can transform into a space plane, which is looking appropriately sci-fi.

Rrobbert184-FA Versus Set-Review (28)
As for the size, it’s a fair bit shorter than MG Gundam 2.0.

Armed and armored, there’s lots of fun to be had on the war zone that is your shelf!

Some final thoughts. First off, I’d say that it’s definitely a good idea to have the frames unbuilt in paltes in the box. These two kits stayed together very well compared to those with those pre-built frames. Also, the colors that Kotobukiya chose are catchy, though some people may not like this CG style instead of the traditional shades. For people who want to play and pose them, you don’t have to worry about them falling apart at all. If you want to show them off on the shelf, they’ll stand out for sure, too. Really, no complaints to make at all! So if you are a Frame Arms fan, especially if you’ve been on the fence about buying either of these two before, this may be the the right time! Thanks for checking this out, everyone.
